Last week, I attended the 1EdTech Digital Credentials Summit in Philadelphia on behalf of Compro Technologies, one of my clients. The central theme of the summit was bridging the chasms separating K-12, Higher Ed, and Workforce, particularly as these gaps relate to individual learner journeys across these ecosystems.
As likely comes through in the blog post (linked in the image and also available here), I'm impressed with two things 1EdTech is doing. First, they are looking at the individual standards they've been working to create, such as CASE standards, Comprehensive Learner Records, and Digital Credentials, to see how these standards can work together to complete a data journey now that is filled with potholes and crevasses. Second, they aren't trying to go it alone. Under Curtiss Barnes's leadership, they are building intentional partnerships with other standards bodies, seeking to both amplify others' work and extend the reach of their own. There is a lot of work to be done, and a lot of trust to build within the various ecosystems. That said, I'm pleased that Compro has joined the conversation and honored to be part of their representation. Watch this space as this work unfolds over the course of the year.
